About the Artist

Chanel Markus always expressed her creativity through the use of various artistic mediums, finding she had a real love for working with watercolours. Being a self taught artist, she honed her skills while exploring her imagination, creating many thought provoking works of her favourite subject - the face. She began sharing her unique artwork online which progressed to showcasing her art in local galleries around Toronto. 

In early 2021, she was asked to paint a portrait of a friend’s beloved pet. Family & friends responded well to this change in subject matter, encouraging her to continue exploring this new path. She’d now found a niche that combined both her love for animals and her passion for the arts. Today her beautiful pet portraits reflect her ability to capture the personalities of her subjects, while sharing her talent for painting with others in a much more personal way.
